Security Technician

The Wycliffe Team is seeking Technicians with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a lead technical role installing electronic security systems. Key focuses are card access control, closed circuit video systems, intrusion systems, and any related transmission technologies (wireless, IP, copper, fiber, etc.)

  • Responsible for installing, terminating, programming and optimizing the cabling, associated devices, computers, digital technology, and commercial off the shelf technologies as required by scope and design.
  • Able to read blue prints and schematic drawings.
  • May prepare estimates in accordance with prescribed instruction or direction of engineer.
  • Must be certified to configure, install and program basic systems independently.
  • Candidate should have either 6-12 months of apprenticeship/class room study; and/or 2-4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Being able to attend, comprehend, and apply any direct factory training on related systems is mandatory.
  • Installs appropriate technology; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by job work package. Works safely and responsibly to avoid injuries, damage to property, loss of unused materials and cleans up installation debris.
  • Excellent knowledge in connector termination for related technology as required for all aspects as a security systems installing and servicing.
  • Excellent knowledge and ability in mechanical retrofitting of door frames and gates for electronic lock devices.
  • Excellent knowledge in programming and training onsite personnel in numerous Access Control, CCTV, and Burglar alarm systems (Examples include Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, S2, DSX, Galaxy, PCSC, Gallagher, Radionics, DMP, Pelco, Milestone, Aventura, Samsung, Panasonic, Axis, etc…).
  • Excellent knowledge of networking addressing schemes and network integration. Experience in IP cameras, IP access control, and computers a must. Must have experience in PTZ camera installation and programming and addressing.
  • Must have the ability to recognize and provide immediate solutions for onsite changes in system integrations in the construction of buildings from start to closure.
  • Must understand the construction process, time line management, utilizing work packages and budget tracking.
  • Contacts customers prior to the date of scheduled installation to verify schedule.
  • Prepares estimates in accordance with prescribed instructions or directions of supervisor.
  • Follows proper schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures. Technician must have knowledge to be able to send tests to the signal-receiving center to properly establish service. Deciphers building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
  • Able to work with other installers, supervisors, and project leaders who are dedicated to a large Commercial and/or National Accounts project.
  • Performs other duties as assigned; this may include performing off hour service work and being assigned to an on-call rotation.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must be able to operate articulating boom lifts, climb ladders, and operate such devices in accordance with OSHA standards. Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Some technical school training desired.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
  • Must be able to travel and lodge on remote projects up to 25%.
  • Must be able to acquire and maintain required industry licensing (CJIS, DCJS)

Experience:

  • 2 to 4 years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

Security/Telecom Sales Engineer

The Wycliffe Team are seeking an Estimator with commercial and government experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing accurate cost estimates for projects, analyzing bids and developing proposals, and ensuring that all estimates are in line with the project scope. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drawings, specifications, construction materials and processes, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The Estimator will also need to be organized and detail-oriented in order to ensure accuracy and timeliness of all estimates while creating customer relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer requirements and specifications.
  • Develop accurate estimates for projects.
  • Develop cost estimates and bid proposals.
  • Review and analyze construction drawings and specifications.
  • Identify potential problems with project scope, design, or budget.
  • Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience.
